Periods of natural dune erosion occur when storm surge erodes the base of the dune and carries that sand to offshore bars. Kalinich sand fence provides an environmentally friendly fencing system that promotes the retention of sand reserves created by beach reclamation and restoration projects and supports on-going sand dune maintenance programs. Our sand fence not only protects beaches from natural erosion, it also provides a vegetation prevention barrier for the safe habitat of natural sea vegetation and dune ecology. Control for blowing sand across roadways, runways and around construction sites is yet another common use for sand fence.

Like our snow fence, Kalinich sand fence is constructed of No.1 Aspen pickets (3/8” x 1 ½” x 48”), woven with 5 double strands of 13-gauge galvanized wire. Our standard fence is sold in 50’ rolls and left “natural” to blend into the surrounding landscape without paint or stain to compromise the beach environment.

• 2” Rounds – Ideal for dune signage and plant staking. These posts are also made from northern spruce. Available in custom lengths up to 8’; natural or treated; flat cut or pencil pointed.
• Post & Rope Fence Posts – An economical and beach friendly barrier fence. Posts are made from our 3” round northern spruce. Available in 7’ lengths with pre-drilled 1 or 2 hole profiles; natural or treated; flat cut or pencil pointed. Custom hole diameters are also available. (Roping not included)
• Steel T-Posts – The standard for snow fence installation and specialized beach fence applications. Material is a durable 1.25 lb/ft steel painted green.
